CraftmanshipTechniques Used
In Ireland and across Europe in recent years there has been a revival of wood as a construction product. There are several reasons for this; wood is a natural renewable resource and can be re-shaped to fit curves etc,. At Pat Rudkins Joinery the combination of modern techniques and traditional craftmanship ensure that all products are durable, stylish, have a long life and are pleasing to the eye.
Advice
All timber products whether internal or external need to be primed prior to fitting. All products have to be stored in a dry, well ventilated environment and stacked appropriately, thus preventing warping and swelling. Timber is a natural product and must be treated with the respect it deserves.
Period Joinery
In the last few years a lot of buildings with some beautiful characteristics are being perserved. As a result of this we find ourselves taking on projects which have a lot of detail that needs to match identically.
This is an aspect of joinery we are now specialising in, working in conjuction with architects, clients and building contractors.
